Overview

In 2005, Council adopted a new organizational structure to streamline current departments and divisions:

• The Parks, Recreation and Culture Department encompasses the community recreational, leisure and cultural services programs provided by the Township. This includes municipal parks, the Uxbridge Arena and Recreation Centre, Uxpool, the Uxbridge Historical Centre, leisure programming, facilities management and community and rural halls.
• The Treasury Department supports all internal business functions of the corporation, including Finance and Tax, Information Systems and Human Resources. It has the major financial responsibility to ensure there are adequate financial controls to safeguard the Town's assets and budget control over the Town's expenditures.
• The Development Services Department merges Planning Services, Building Services to improve response time and streamline the approval process and improve "one window" customer services. This Department oversees the issuance of building permits, conducts building inspections as well as all the planning functions which include Zoning By-law Amendments, Official Plan Amendments, Site Plan Development and Committee of Adjustment Applications.
• The Public Works Department includes new and replacement road construction, roads infrastructure maintenance, fleet maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
• The Clerk's Department has incorporated the By-law Services Department, Animal Control and Clerk's Department. The Clerk's Department is responsible for the administration of all legislative requirements under the Municipal Act and other statues that impact the Township and for the general administration of the government and affairs of the municipality. All licenses including Marriage Licenses, Taxi Licenses. Refreshments Vehicles Licenses etc. are issued through this Department.
• The Fire Department is responsible for the delivery of fire prevention and protection services for the Township.
• The Township Administrator is responsible for the general administration of the government and affairs of the municipality.

This new Organizational Structure is similar to those adopted by most municipalities throughout Ontario and ensures that the Corporation can meet the needs and expectations of the community
