New survey collects information to help create an age-friendly community...

It is no secret that a large portion of Canada’s population is aging. This trend has communities examining what programs, services and infrastructure needs their aging residents will require. The Township of Uxbridge is also looking at the needs of older residents and is putting together an age-friendly plan for the community.

The Age-friendly Committee of The Township of Uxbridge is launching a survey to collect information about resident’s experiences. By filling out the survey, participants will help determine what things are working well and what things need improvement to make our community truly age-friendly.

The survey is part of a comprehensive community consultation process that will result in an assessment report to Council. The survey will be circulated on paper through church groups, seniors’ residences and seniors clubs and service organizations and may be picked up at the Township Office and Library sites. Users can complete the survey at the Survey Monkey website or download an online copy from the Township website. The entire community is invited to participate.

The information you provide in this survey will be used to gauge how age-friendly Uxbridge is today and what could help make it more age-friendly in the future. The survey will be available until June 30th, 2018.
