The Durham Emergency Management Office (DEMO) reminds residents to be prepared for...

emergency situations this winter, such as the potential for severe weather, including winter storms, blizzards, freezing rain, heavy snowfall, extended cold temperatures and wind chills.

The Region and the Township of Uxbridge have emergency plans and programs in place. However, your own disaster planning is also essential. Residents are encouraged to keep their at-home and vehicle emergency kits stocked. For more details about what should be included in your kits, or additional information related to personal emergency preparedness, please visit www.durham.ca/demo.

Get your copy of the updated “Are You Ready?” brochure, which contains valuable tips on personal preparedness, by downloading it online at www.durham.ca/demo, emailing [email protected], calling 1-800-372-1102 ext. 2792, or picking it up in person at the Township of Uxbridge Library, Township offices or the Fire Station.

Remember, emergencies can happen at any time, so it’s important that you are always ready.
