North Durham Nature and the Friends of Nonquon are offering an exciting spring experience at the Nonquon wetlands. Between 9:30 a.m. to noon, people of all ages are invited to meet at the Pheasant Pen Classroom Site of the Nonquon Environmental Education Centre (19745 Old Simcoe Road), for an opportunity to learn about the many plants and animals that make their home in a wetland. With your biodiversity passport in hand you may learn from experts at stations such as: Pondering the Pond, Feathered Friends, Incredible Insects, Biodiversity in my Backyard, Making my own Insect Home (Kawartha Conservation) and Plants and Trees.
Challenge yourself to complete our species checklist and earn 150 points in celebration of Canada's 150th birthday.
