    In early October the Historical Centre will be the subject of an investigation by mediums from the group 'Ghosthunters and Paranormal Experiences of York Region'. The group uses their intuitive abilities to communicate with spirits, clear negative energy, close portals, and rescue spirits. Join us in the museum's heritage Schoolhouse on Friday, October 20th at 8pm to learn about the mediums' night investigating paranormal activity at the Historical Centre. They will also discuss their experiences investigating paranormal activity all around Canada and the U.S., what it means to be a 'medium', and how they do their work.
    Come out for what is sure to be an interesting night! Admission is by donation but please contact the Historical Centre to reserve your spot as seating is limited.

On Friday October 27 & Saturary October 28, the Uxbridge Historical Centre presents our 5th Annual Fright at the Museum: Halloween Haunted Village and Scavenger Hunt, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., last entry at 8:30 p.m. Family friendly event with some scary content. Solve the scavenger hunt mystery, play carnival games in the Schoolhouse, and enjoy treats and refreshments around the bonfire. Guests are invited to come in costume. Hosted by Uxbridge Historical Centre in partnership with Uxbridge Public Libraries, all proceeds support the Historical Centre. Cost: $2 per person, children under 5 are free.     James Aspey has overcome drug abuse, an eating disorder, and a battle with leukaemia. He turned his life around, took a 1 year vow of silence, cycled 5000km, and has given over 150 speeches in hopes of changing the lives of others as well. We are so excited to have him at the sanctuary sharing his inspiring story. Also a great chance to hang out with some beautiful sanctuary animals (cow cuddles, anyone??)

    The Parks Master Plan will guide municipal investment in parks, open space and trails facilities and services in the Township of Uxbridge over the next 10 years. This Plan is an important step for the community. As residents, you have the opportunity to shape the future of parks and open space in the Township through your participation in this process. On November 29th, the consulting team will be presenting the draft recommendations, providing the public with the opportunity to comment on these recommendations prior to the Master Plan being finalized. This event is free to attend and open to the public.
