New Pickle Ball and Tennis Courts Coming to Fields of Uxbridge

Council has approved construction work to take place for the installation of four pickleball and four tennis courts at the Fields of Uxbridge. These improvements emerge in response to public feedback requesting the implementation of new permanent courts. The Township received positive feedback and participation from the temporary indoor pickleball courts established in the Arena last summer, and the Township anticipates significant utilization of the new outdoor courts.

Concept Drawings for Future Downtown Development Released

As part of the Uxbridge Downtown Revitalization Strategic Plan and Action Plan, Township staff have commissioned further conceptual drawings imagining what future redevelopment could look like downtown. These drawings are a proposed vision for the intersection of Brock Street W and Spruce Street.

These renderings are intended to serve as tools to communicate a vision and key characteristics of downtown to potential developers and private property owners.

The Ontario government and the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are reminding the public to exercise caution as black bears begin to come out of hibernation. With this winter’s mild weather and lack of snow, there have been reports of black bears coming out of hibernation early in some parts of the province.

Free tax filing help is available to residents living with low income

Durham Region residents who earn a low income, or who have no income, can get help with filing their taxes for free. Through tax filing, eligible residents can access benefits and credits that could put money in their pockets and help cover basic needs. There are more than 40 benefits and credits in Ontario; many can only be accessed through tax filing.
