Reward offered for information leading to charges 

A rash of missing street signs has prompted the Township of Uxbridge to issue a warning, “Stealing a street sign is a felony, and you will be charged”. Over the past few months, nearly 40 street name signs have gone missing in the Township of Uxbridge. The estimated cost to the Municipality to replace these signs is approximately $15,000 and the amount is increasing daily.

Construction work to install fibre optic cable has necessitated the removal of a sign erected to promote the site of the New Animal Shelter of Uxbridge and Scugog (NASUS) on Lakeridge Rd. While the sign has come down, the commitment to complete the project by both the Township of Uxbridge and the Township of Scugog remains strong.

Waste collection calendars are going digital! As part of The Region of Durham’s Long-term Waste Management Plan to mitigate environmental impacts, paper waste collection calendars will no longer be distributed to households.  Eliminating the paper calendars will save on printing and distribution costs while also reducing waste.

In support of Durham Vision Zero, a strategic road safety action plan, the Region of Durham will be changing the sequence of traffic signals at the intersection of Brock Street and Toronto Street in the Township of Uxbridge.
