2nd Avenue Tree Removal to Commence February-March 2024

The Township, in partnership with Lake Simcoe Regional Conservation Authority, will be removing trees from the meadow area located on the North side of 2nd Avenue, between Rosena Lane & Bolster Lane, in late February/early March as part of a restoration project.

Uxbridge Receives Energy Efficiency Achievement Award for Ice Re-surfacing Project

The Township of Uxbridge has received an Energy Efficiency Achievement Award from Enbridge for its ice resurfacing upgrade project.

The Township implemented REALice technology in 2023 to save costs and reduce energy usage. REALice is designed specifically for ice rinks and treats the water used for ice resurfacing, eliminating the need for hot water when building and resurfacing ice.

Status Update Regarding YDHR Leases

On January 8th, Township of Uxbridge Council directed staff to refrain from entering into a new train station lease with York Durham Heritage Railway (YDHR). YDHR vacated the property and returned the station to the Township, as per the terms of the agreement.
